Louise Morrison

Louise Morrison has been a member of the Nashville Symphony since 2007. She was born in Dublin, Ireland and began playing the violin at age eight. A year later she was accepted as a scholarship student to Dublin's College of Music. In 1992 she graduated from Trinity College Dublin with a Bachelor's Degree in Music and the Gold Medal for Highest Performance. Ms. Morrison made her solo debut at Dublin's National Concert Hall with the St. Cecilia Chamber Orchestra, and after winning first prizes in Irish National competitions, represented her home country in the European Soloist of the Year.

Ms. Morrison furthered her studies in America with an Artist Diploma at Indiana University, where she was a student of Paul Biss; at IU she also studied Baroque violin with Stanley Richie. In 2002 she became a member of the Avila Quartet, the assistant ensemble to the Vermeer Quartet. As a soloist and chamber musician, Ms. Morrison has extensively toured the U.S. and Europe and has been featured on radio and television.
